Best in Business Awards

Thursday, May 17th, 2007
Tonight we won the Best in Business Award from the Nashville Business Journal.

It is late and I am about to pass out from exhaustion, but I want to express how humbling it can be sometimes to be recognized. Throughout the night all I could keep thinking about was 2 years ago, working from home, struggling and scratching. I don’t ever want to forget those days.

As fun as it is sometimes to reach your dreams (and we are nowhere close) it can be ten times more fun to almost think it is impossible to reach them, but try like hell every day.

Walt Disney said that “it is kind of fun to do the impossible.” He could not be more right. I think we are pretty close to pulling that off.

We have been 10 times luckier and more blessed that I could have ever hoped for. We have worked awfully hard, but we have been so fortunate to have surrounded ourselves with amazing people who care about their jobs and each other. Having our employees there tonight was just awesome!

Our affiliates have made us much of who we are as well. I cannot count the number of affiliates that have stuck with us through the hard times. Times when we could not pay as much as someone else, times when we had problems with this and that. They stuck with us and helped us grow and learn and get better at what we do.

You are more than business partners…you are family to all of us in every sense of the word.

I believe that sometimes the world can be overly cynical to think that a business can rely solely on loyalty to a cause, to a vision, and to each other. But honestly, at times, that is all we had. The ability to believe in each other and ourselves and to bring people on board who felt the same way.

In simple words I can only sum up my feelings by saying:

THANK YOU!

Feeling Isolated at the Home Office?

Here are some tips to help you overcome…

From Andrea Coutu

  1. Go for a walk. Get out every day.
  2. Buy a light book. Reset your routines and perhaps your mood.
  3. Create some routines. Buy a latte every morning at the nearest coffee shop. Go out for lunch. Take a lunchtime yoga class. Go for a jog. Incorporate some of the structure you’d have in an office setting.

This is a great read for all of you who work from home, as I did once upon a time, and get a little stir crazy every now and then.

Quick Updates and News

Thursday, May 3rd, 2007

I just wanted to take a moment to thank everyone for your help in implementing our new auto insurance forms last month.

We were indeed pleasantly surprised that conversions went up as much as they did.  In testing, they were up 1.6%, which was very good!  However, across the board for all affiliates, they are up 3.8% compared to before the change. That can literally mean THOUSANDS of DOLLARS for many of you.

We are also currently working to update our health insurance forms and testing is almost complete.  We will be notifying you soon of these changes, and there will be a little work needed on your end to make the changes have the maximum impact.

Not much though ;-)

Many of you may have also noticed that there are other changes to various forms, quote boxes, and links.  We are constantly working to update our links, banners, quote boxes, and EVERYTHING!

You input, as always is appreciated and helpful, so feel to let us know how things are going!
