More on the Google Smack-Down

Tuesday, July 29th, 2008

Amit Mehta posted about the Google Smack-down (Google Slap). Last week I posted about the UberAffiliate Blog post and comments.

Amit posts here about Landing Page Quality Score and what Google REALLY wants. It is a great post that should help you beginners and experts alike.

Ultimately he concludes (and yes this is obvious but still it seems some need to be reminded of it) that Google wants REAL sites, not gateway sites or portals or redirects or just landing pages.  They want REAL sites with REAL content.  They want you to offer the consumer something of VALUE, not just an affiliate landing page.

Affiliate Marketing Continues to Grow - Expected to Grow Even More

Wednesday, July 23rd, 2008

A new study published by Jupiter Research shows that affiliate marketing is growing…and growing!

Between now and 2012, affiliate marketing spending is expected to increase at an annual rate of 13%.  That is incredible compared to other industries.

Will this apply to insurance?  Of course!  In fact, more so than many industries in this economic climate.

Currently affiliate marketing spending accounts for 9% of total online spending.  That is expected to remain steady through 2012.  The report was entitled “U.S. Online Affiliate Marketing Forecast, 2007 to 2012.”

Google is now offering local AdWords seminars.

These seminars are offered throughout the country and look to be very good.

They are very affordable ($250 per class) and you can write off the expense as a business expense. You also get AdWords credits and some other goodies from Google.

Check out more information here and sign-up today! If you are going, let me know and I might be able to join you :-)

Also, let me know how it goes!

Harry Maugans posts on the ShoeMoney blog about the psychological side of landing pages.

There are some good tips in there…nothing “brand new” but still a good quick read!
