Ah 1960…

Sit-in at Woolworth’s Diner in Greensboro, NC. John F. Kennedy elected President. Sri Lanka (then Ceylon) elects Sirimavo Bandaranaike Prime Minister, the world’s first elected female head of government. Numerous African nations declare independence from their European colonizers. In Louisville, Kentucky, Cassius Clay (later Muhammad Ali) wins his first professional fight.
